Our Latino book collection includes authentic cultural children's picture books, easy readers and chapter books. Picture books represent Latino family themes that embrace cultural values. Most are bilingual.

Other books include fiction and non-fiction by or about Latinos including cultural arts, cook books, biographies, history, poetry, novels, current events, fiction, and poetry in English and Spanish. A growing section of books about Latino current events and civil rights features the work of Henry Cisneros, José Angel Gutierrez and Jorge Ramos.

Featured Authors
Dr. Ellen Riojas Clark, professor at University of Texas San Antonio is San Antonio's favorite abuela and cultural guru. She coauthors a column reviewing Latino books for the San Antonio Express-News. Her latest triumph is the second edition of Tamales, Comadres, and the meaning of Civilization, coauthored with Dr. Carmen Tafolla.

Diane Gonzalez Bertrand is the author of 21 books for young readers including picture books and novels for young adults. A native of San Antonio, she teaches writing at St. Mary's University where she is Writer in Residence.
